Proper packing is essential to ensure your cargo arrives safely, securely, and without delays. At TGL Freights Limited, we provide guidance to help customers prepare their shipments correctly for transit between the UK and Nigeria.

Following these packing guidelines helps reduce the risk of damage, loss, or customs issues.


General Packing Guidelines
  • Use strong, durable boxes suitable for international shipping

  • Avoid old, damaged, or weak cartons

  • Seal all boxes securely with high-quality packing tape

  • Do not overfill boxes — contents should fit comfortably

  • Clearly label each package with the sender and receiver’s details


Packaging by Cargo Type
📦 Personal Items & Household Goods
  • Wrap fragile items individually with bubble wrap

  • Use cushioning materials such as foam or packing paper

  • Place heavier items at the bottom of boxes

  • Clearly mark boxes containing fragile items


💻 Electronics & Appliances
  • Use original packaging where available

  • Protect screens and sensitive parts with extra padding

  • Remove batteries where required

  • Ensure items are properly secured to prevent movement


🏢 Commercial & Business Cargo
  • Pack goods in cartons, crates, or pallets as appropriate

  • Ensure invoices and packing lists match the contents

  • Use clear product descriptions on all documents

  • Secure bulk items to prevent shifting during transit


Fragile & High-Value Items
  • Double-box fragile items

  • Use shock-absorbing materials

  • Clearly label packages as “FRAGILE”

  • Consider additional protection or insurance options


Weight & Size Considerations
  • Do not exceed recommended weight limits for boxes

  • Use reinforced boxes for heavy items

  • Oversized or heavy cargo may require special handling

Prohibited & Restricted Items

Certain items are not permitted for shipment due to customs and safety regulations.
